Install several license-files on single backup-server with different license-owners

Dear Ladies and Gentleman,

I have received an question from one of my customer. Short description of customer-infrastructure:

- VEEAM Backup and Replication 9.5
- Hyper-V infrastructure
- One central data center with Hyper-V-Cluster and VEEAM-Backup-Server (physical), license is created for license-owner Alpha, VEEAM-Account Alpha
- At the moment one additional branch with single Hyper-V-Host, license is created for license-owner Bravo, VEEAM-Account Bravo, several branches could be opened anytime

Installed licenses on backup-sever:

- Perpetual, 4 Sockets, license-owner Alpha

License purchased for branch:

- Perpetual, 2 Sockets, license-owner Bravo

-> All Hyper-V-Hosts should be managed by central backup-server. There are in sum three Hyper-Hosts a´2 Sockets (DC+Branch).
That means I need 6 Sockets licensed on central backup-server (4 sockets in data center, 2 in the branch).

Problem:

Due to fact that the license for 4 sockets is installed on backup-Server, the customer runs into licensing-issues.
Therefore not all three Hyper-Hosts (2 Sockets a´3 Host = 6 Sockets) are enabled for backup.
VMs on one host in the data center are currently not back uped.

And now my question:

Is it possible to Install several license-files on single backup-server with different license-owners?
Have the files to be merged into one single license-file?
Is this possible when the license-files are from different license-owners/VEEAM-accounts?

Or do the customer need for the case he wants to separate the data center and branch(es) organizationally two dedicated backup-server?

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.

It's not possible to install several licenses on one backup server.

But you can merge the branch office with headquarter with help of license support. It involves some paperwork but it is possible as long as it is the same company
