Licensed Host IP change

Post by msullivan@csa1.com »

We are about to change the IP of our Licensed Hyper-V host. The license was initialy installed by the server's IP.
After we changed the IP and add it as a managed server, do we just need to revoke the server in License window and add server or reinstall license. The Hyper-V server is hosting 3 vm's we backup and replicate offsite.

Hi Matt,

Yes, you will need to revoke your existing license key, re-add your Hyper-V server to the backup console and then map new backup jobs to the existing backup files. Alternatively, you may want to adjust hosts file on your backup server to make sure your backup jobs work with new IP address of your Hyper-V server.

Thanks!
