Hi all,
I want to migrate my Veeam 7.0 B&R to new hardware. I want to upgrade to V8 when it comes out as well. What is my best course of action? Should I migrate V7 to the new hardware and then upgrade to v8 or try going from V7 on the old hardware directly to V8 on the new hardware? Should I perhaps upgrade to V8 on the old hardware and thyen migrate?

Re: Migration advice
Hi George,
Actually every way you have described would work. If I were you, I would probably stick to this one -> migrate your existing v7 installation to the new hardware and then upgrade it to v8. This would allow you to confirm that migration has completed successfully before proceeding with the upgrade to the new version.
For the upgrade purposes you can use our built-in configuration utility which is basically a tool that does export/import of the entire backup configuration.
Thanks!

Re: Migration advice
Just to add, export/import of Veeam B&R configuration between versions is not currently supported, so I would recommend either way of in-place upgrade.
