Currently i have one physical box that host all the veeam roles. i recently started updating my clusters and realized that my off-host proxy is not working anymore. Which is because i need to upgrade to 2016. So since i need to do that i am thinking about re-doing my whole setup. I have 120ish vms managed by this server. 70 of those in the Datacenter. So not a huge deployment. All hyper-v.
NOW
Veeam SQL server
Veeam Server
Veeam Console
Veeam One
Veeam Enterprise Manager
Veeam Off-host Proxy.
Veeam Wan Accelerator
Mount point for all veeam storage at the datacenter
What i am thinking.
Single VM (hosted on a Host that holds just my SCVMM server vm)
Veeam Server
Veeam SQL
Veeam Console
Veeam One
Veeam Enterprise Manager
Physical that was running everything.
Veeam Off-host Proxy.
Veeam Wan Accelerator
Mount point for all veeam storage at the datacenter

Re: Re-designing Veeam setup
Hello,
If I were you I would install SQL Server hosting Veeam ONE/Veeam B&R databases to a separate box for better performance of Veeam ONE. Using an off-host proxy is definitely a good idea for your backup and replication jobs. Finally, combining Veeam B&R console and EM in the single server seems like a common thing among our customers, so in summary your ideal setup would consist of 3 servers:
Physical box: off-host proxy and WAN Accelerator
VM1: SQL Server
VM2: Veeam B&R, Veeam ONE and EM applications
Thank you!
