I'm wondering if anyone has successfully deployed Veeam backup and Replication in a 2016 Hyper-V environment. I started to upgrade my 2012R2 Hyper-V environment to 2016 but quickly found that replication fails between 2016 hosts. They accept incoming replicas from the 2012R2 servers but not from other 2016 servers.
Failed to process replication task Error: Value of the argument 'SnapshotId' is not defined.--tr:Failed to retrieve value of the unicode attribute 'SnapshotId'.
Hyper-V replication works fine. I've opened a ticket with Veeam (Case# 02259967) but they don't have a clue and this has debilitated my virtual environment to the point of having to strip Veeam completely out.
I am having success with veeam replicating on an updated Hyper-V Server 2016 node to a secondary Hyper-V Server 2016 node. In fact I'm even able to perform the replication (and backups) on a VM not supported on Hyper-V Server 2016 or by Veeam (Windows Server 2008 Std...NOT R2). It certainly is possible and will work.
It's nice to know that it DOES work. My environment wouldn't work with upgraded or fresh installs of 2016. Veeam provided me a reg fix that worked. Based on the results from the reg fix they determined it may be a bug and I'm waiting for the official word as to what the fix will be.
replication from 2012 to 2016 cluster works fine, but when i Try to run surebackup on a 2016 host we get the sam error:
Failed to process replication task Error: Value of the argument 'SnapshotId' is not defined.--tr:Failed to retrieve value of the unicode attribute 'SnapshotId'.
