We are installing a new backup landscape with Veeam for Hyper-V. The Hyper-V servers are managed via an SVCMM.
In this context, the question is: does the new backup landscape have to run in a Windows domain so that I can back up the Hyper-V servers?
In a test setup, based on the workgroup model, we did not succeed in including the SVCMM in Veeam. Finally, it always failed because of the Powershell: "Failed to reconnect PowerShell session".
We suspect that with a workgroup concept, the credentials (tickets) are not passed through, as is possible in the domain, for example (keyword SSO). Is that true?

Re: SVCMM and Veeam - Domain or Workgroup?!
Hi Walter,
According to this table, any SCVMM user is allowed to add the entity into backup infrastructure. I'm not aware of any limitations in regards to Workgroup usage, so from my point of view it's worth finding out the real root cause of the error mentioned above. Could you please open a support ticket and share its ID with us?
Thanks!
