Veeam support case ID # 01818288
After turning on a replicated VM, both hyper-v nodes went to blue screen of death. Below is the configuration details:
Veeam version: Veeam 9 with the latest update running on Windows 2012R2
Windows OS: Windows Server 2008R2 with Hyper-V role enabled
Cluster information: both nodes are operating under a failed over cluster and managed by SCVMM
Veeam infrastructure setup: Veeam communicates with both hyper-v nodes individually, not added via a cluster or SCVMM
Replication job setup: replicate a VM (belong to the failover cluster) from node01 to a different Cluster Shared Volumes on the same node.
During the replication, two warnings showed on the process list:
Code: Select all
Failed to flush change tracking data. Using full scan incremental run
Failed to connect restored VM to the network Details: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: x0x800706BA)
After created a new VM on the cluster and ''imported'' the replica VHD, turning on the replica VM crashed both hyper-v nodes. After the node booted up, Event 1001 Bugcheck was displayed on the hyper-v windows event viewer. Says the computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.
Called Veeam support who suggested adding both VMs through SCVMM, however the support person also claimed he is not familiar with Hyper-V, so I'd like to have some opinions here.
Thanks,
W.
