Veeam free standard checkpoints

Hi there,

we have a customer that uses Veeam free Backup and Recovery 9.5 U4. They have just deployed their first Server 2019 Hyper-V server (previously only 2012R2 servers).
Now backups of VM's on this server are failing due to not being able to create Production checkpoints.

The Host is Server 2019 with all updates
The VM's are server 2008 (NOT R2, yes very old but unfortunately still needed)
I have upgraded the hardware version from 5.0 to 9.0 and still the same.

Is there a way to force Veeam B&R 9.5 update 4 to use Standard checkpoints for VM's that don't support production checkpoints?

Hey Dave,

That's a HyperV setting afaik. Go to the VM settings and the checkpoints section, and you just set which type of checkpoint gets used.
