We're using Veeam 11 to do a daily backup of files on a LucidLink file share, which is basically a drive letter in the backup server's file system. It works very well, but there are some file names from Macintosh systems that cause Veeam to skip backup of a file. In this case, I get a message in the backup log like
25.05.2023 21:15:17 :: Skipped files list location: C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\LucidLink_Backup\Report\backup_2023-5-25T211134.csv
I would like to get an alarm in this case from Veeam One so I can fix the names of skipped files manually, but I haven't found a way to set this up. Any suggestions would be very welcome. If I can do this in Veeam 12, I would finally have a reason to get that upgrade done .
Hello Andreas, I think you can obtain what you're after even with v11
You can configure Notification Settings (under the "Advanced" settings at the "Storage" step - renamed "Backup Repository" in v12 - of the File Backup Job creation wizard). If "Make file or folder processing issues result in a job warning" is flagged, skipped files will result in the job ending with a "warning" status.
This would in turn be picked up by Veeam ONE, raising an alarm / notification (via the "NAS Backup Job State" predefined alarm under "Veeam Backup & Replication Alarms")
