Database connection impossible

Hello guys,

I would like to apply for your help, my is :

Computer : Windows XP 3
User : I am in a domain but admin of my computer
Vmware : I am admin of my datastore and read only on the other


When i install the Veeam monitor, the full installation is going well.
I full installation, i create the SQL database, i skip the licence file (For free version), i reboot my computer

And i get database disconnected

I uninstall, clean the register, uninstall SQL, reboot => same thing
I try it 3 time on 2 different computer

In Veeam option server / Database
I have :
Collector service status : OK
DATABASE Status : OK
Licence status : Licence is not installed

And when i clik check Database i have the error :

Database is accessible, but the integrity cannot be perfomed :

IDispatch error #3092 veam monitor data collector is using the database. stop database and try again.

I stop the service : "Veam data collector service" the Check database is OK but still no connection

I restart it (Veam data collector service) but still nothing

Hello,

Could you tell me please what was the OS for the second machine you've tried installing Veeam Monitor 4.5? Besides, could you please check that the account running Veeam Collector service does have an access to the database. Moreover, I would recommend to use the same domain account added to local admin group for service as well, just in testing purposes.

Hi,

Thank you for your help, because i really try your product !!!

The second OS was also a windows XP SP3

In the account running Veeam Collector service in connexion tab i add my login (i am an local admin)

In the option in the security Tab i check that my account is allow and its OK

ANd i use the same domain account added to local admin group for services

I also try the the beta 5 it was even able to connect to the database

Could you please clarify, as I might get it not right.... so with Monitor 5 beta you were able to connect to the database and get performance data for your virtual infrastructure on Win XP SP3 machine?

I'm asking this as it worth using new version rather than the previous one, because v5 has a great KB, more than 120 predifined alarms, enhanced summary pages for all virtual objects and etc.

Unfortunately with the Veeam V5, i wasn't able to connect to the database, in Veeam Option the Database status was OFF

I really don't know what to try else

First of all, I would recommend sticking to v5 and installing it on Win2003 machine or any other server platform, to see if the issue re-confirms or not. As to WinXP SP3 machines, I would look through VeeamDCS.log searching for any errors occurred during establishing a connection to the database.

Besides, I would also try to manually re-create the database using "Change database" option, might help.

I really would like to try this solution.

But if i have to ask for a Windows 2003 licence, and a free IP in the network only for try a software i will have to fight hardely and it will take a while.

There is any other solutions to do ?

Please search for the "Error" message, rather than an "Inform" one. Additionally, if you have a paid version of the product please don't hesitate to contact our support team for a direct assistance.

P.S. I've removed the log entry from your previous post to keep the topic clear.
