Hi
Our customer will migrate Veeam ONE Server to Another Machine.
And they will upgrade to latest Veeam ONE version(9.5 Update 4a).
Currently, they use Veeam ONE 9.5 Update 3.
They are trying to do this according to the following KB.
https://www.veeam.com/kb1801
In this case, which version should we install on the new VeeamONE server ?
For example, they want to run follow the steps below if possible;
---------------
1. Backup the existing Veeam ONE Server database using SQL Management Studio.
2. Install Veeam ONE 9.5 Update 4a on new Machine.
3. Restore database backup to new Veeam ONE 9.5 Update 4a Server.
---------------
However, we are concerned about whether a 9.5 Update 3 database backup can be restored to a 9.5 Update 4a database.
(Due to changes in Business View etc.)
So, should we follow the steps below ?
---------------
1. Backup the existing Veeam ONE Server database using SQL Management Studio.
2. Install Veeam ONE 9.5 Update 3 on new Machine.
3. Restore database backup to new Veeam ONE 9.5 Update 3 Server.
4. Upgrade Veeam ONE 9.5 Update 3 to Update 4a on new Veeam ONE Server.
---------------
Regards
Toshi

Re: Migrating and Upgrading Veeam ONE Server
Hi Toshi,
You can install Veeam ONE 9.5 Update 4a and point to existing SQL Server instance on the database configuration step of the setup wizard. Veeam ONE database will be upgraded automatically.
However, second option also works.
Thanks
