Possible to Monitor Hosts/Datastores Without Monitoring VMs

Post by kslaught21 »

We only need to monitor ~ 10 VMs (residing on a few different hosts/datastores) in our environment. We have several hosts and datastores that we would still like to monitor (other than the ones that the VMs we are monitoring reside on). However, it appears as though you can only monitor hosts/datastores that VMs you are monitoring reside on. Any way to monitor hosts/datastores without monitoring VMs?

Hello Kyle,
Generally yes, you need a license to monitor objects. What kind of license do you have, per-VM or per-socket?
Thanks!
