User Password change broke Monitor

We had to change the Admin password due to turnover and not the monitor will not connect to the db, the server config setting show that the user can connect to the db. I have removed and reinstalled, this is the free Monitor. I have seen other post with simaler issues but no resolutions were posted, just that they were able to resolve the issue. (win2k3, Monitor 4.0.1x with sql2005 express)
