Access to internal storage path xyz-zyx is denied.

Post by sneaking_pete »

Hi, is this something new in 11a / AHV 3.0 versions.
Trying to restore a VM to same cluster it was when backedup.
Error pop-up saying:
Restore finished : <VMname> : Restore failed. Failed to start a restore process: Access to internal storage path [c6b1388d-f57f-47b8-9e07-a3df407f5e2d (563ca7c4-a4e9-43a1-bc33-498818d1b705)/summary.xml] is denied
Failed to restore file from local backup. VFS link: [summary.xml]. Target file: [MemFs://RestoreText_{0caf6ac6-114d-428f-a5d7-f461b8cf9848}]. CHMOD mask: [0].
And then finished the process.
Im still on the same main AHV LTS version 5.20 as when backup was taken. But have since patched to 5.20.2.1. My VBR and proxy did undergo a traumatic upgrade to 11a and ver: 3.0 (created case with veeam around this). Backup seems to have been working fine, but this is sort of the first real test to see how "recovery" is working with new versions.
For my case today, created ticket 05162202 - severity 2.

Anyone else with similar error / warning?
Thanks, Sneaking Pete

The v3 AHV proxy only supports AOS 5.5+ https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/van/u ... tml?ver=30

Hi, isn't this (5.20.x) understood to be inside/in-between the supported version?
[*]Nutanix AOS versions 5.5.X up to 6.0.X.

(and... it did work fine post ver: VBR 11a / Veeam AHV 3.0)
Thanks for your comment.

Hi Pete,

I just did verify the restore functionality and do not have a problem. I am running version AHV 5.20.1.1 with Veeam Back for AHV version 11a / 3.0.

Best regards,
Ted

I think you mean Nutanix AOS versions 5.5.X up to 6.0.X. (as stated in your link), where version 5.20.x falls in. AHV version 5.20 is a long term service release (LTS).

Ted
