Backup copy jobs for Nutanix AHV

Post by wosteen »

We backup our Nutanix AHV cluster to a local NAS using Veeam Backup and Recovery. This works like a champ!

We've recently added a remote site NAS and I'd like to mirror our Veeam backups to this secondary repository. Unfortunately, according to the documentation, "the Immediate Copy mode is not supported for backups created with AHV Backup Proxy". So this leaves periodic copy (pruning) as my only option. I've tried this, but it takes FOREVER to complete. We have around 65TB of data on our local NAS.

Is there any better way to truly mirror our backups to this remote NAS? Should I just consider doing something like an rsync from one NAS to the other?

Thoughts?

Thanks!
Wayne

Hello and welcome to the community Wayne,

Is it possible to manually deliver the data to the secondary site? If yes - you can use seeding and continue the backup chains with incremental job run. Take a look at this article for more details - Creating Seed for Backup Copy Job. Cheers!
