How to protect data when VBR servers are configured with Nutanix VMs

Post by Asahi »

Hi,

I would like to ask a question about backup using Veeam Nutanix AHV. :D
I understand that with Veeam Nutanix AHV, the proxy appliance is deployed and backed up in an AHV cluster.
And I also understand that we will need one VBR server.

For example, if I configure the VBR server as a Nutanix virtual machine, can I include it in my backups?
I know that if I want to protect the data on the VBR server itself, I can use Configuration Backup or Veeam Agent for Windows.
I would like to know if there is any advantage of protecting it with Nutanix AHV backup jobs.

I would like to know the best practices for protecting a VBR server when it is configured as a Nutanix VM. :D

Kind Regards,

Hello,
I would like to know if there is any advantage of protecting it with Nutanix AHV backup jobs.
you don't have a chicken-egg problem then. If the VBR server is lost, you don't have a restore button to restore it :-)

I would go with Configuration backup and optional Agent backup. Agent backup depends how much you automated the setup of a Windows machine.

Best regards,
Hannes
