Hello,
We migrated all our VMs from ESX to Nutanix AHV last summer.
2 Nutanix clusters, and 2 Dell EMC Data Domain as repository.
Each site has a Nutanix cluster and a Data Domain.
Nutanix VMs backuped to local Data Domain, and backuped copy to the remote Data Domain.
We had to change from ddboost protocol to CIFS shares, and storage performance has decreased.
Backuped data is growing faster than we expected.
Is there any best practices for our configuration ?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks !
Regards,
Loïc

Re: Veeam for AHV with Dell EMC Data Domain
Your best bet is to wait for Veeam Backup & Replication v10 which includes v2 of our AHV solution. The update will fully support DDBoost, and switching back to Boost from CIFS should take care of some of your issues.

Re: Veeam for AHV with Dell EMC Data Domain
Dear all,
We are currently proposing a backup solution for an AHV Nutanix cluster based on "Veeam Avalability suite for AHV" and a "DellEMC DD6300" as arepository. We are thinking of using DDBoost in order to reduce backup windows and use DD native source deduplication.
Does V10 fully supports DDBoost?
Best regards to you all.
Tawfik

@tawfik.oukicha V10 provides the basis for AHV/DD Boost support but this feature is dependent on the upcoming AHV plugin to provide full support. We expect this to be available very soon.
