Error deleting backup from object storage

Post by gorka »

Hi Everybody

These days I am testing AWS backups with scale-out repositories. A few days ago (April 7th) configure a new S3 Bucket with the object locking feature, once the bucket has been created configure the scale-out respository with the option "Make recent backups immutable for 2 days" and a backup task. the backup job completed successfully, but when I want to delete the Backups (from object storage), Veeam warns me "Failed to delete backup Error: Unable to delete the backup because it is marked as immutable until 19 April 2020 18:26:46" . Why? I have configured the backups to be immutable for two days, but according to the error it is making them immutable for 12 days, what am I doing wrong?

Block Generation is an additional period of 10 days that is automatically added to the immutability expiration date. This period helps you alleviate removal of data and decrease frequent requests to object storage that may be required to preserve the lock of backup chains.
