Moving backup files to azure blob storage

We are cloud service provider. We are moving backup files from old repository, this repo is a Vmachine in azure with 16 TB disk HDD, we need to migrate historical backup files to another new repository, this repo is an azure blob storage with Cool tier. We copied files using azure storage explorer to Blob Storage because the option MOVE BACKUP TO ANOTHER REPO or ANOTHER JOB arent available in Veeam Backup in Tenant side. We are scanning the new repo from Tenant Side and the backup files are not available, too, we are using the IMPORT backup option and the backup files from object storage arent available. Correct, there is currently no option to migrate tenant backups on your Veeam Cloud Connect server from block storage to object storage. We know about the request but I cannot offer you a solution today. And I cannot provide any ETA when this feature may arrive.

We don't have backup files (VBK, VIB, VBM,...) on object storage repositories. Moving those files to Object Storage and then do a rescan or import will not work.
When we write backups to object storage, we split backup files in small blocks and offload them as unique objects. The benefit of that approach is that we don't have to download entire full and incremental backups when you only want to restore a really small file (eg.10 MB word document). Imagine having a 10 TB full backup file of a file server which needs to be downloaded every time you start restoring a 10MB word document. API cost and data egress fees will be extremely high.

I suggest to start from scratch with object storage and keep the backups on the 16TB disk until they have aged out.
