Remove GFS full backups (These are your archives, so think twice)

Post by vaxyz »

Hi,

I would like to delete an old Backup Copy Job name Offload to AWS from Veeam Backup & Replication app. When doing so I get this message below.

My SOBR was configured with Direct-to-Object storage:

Offload to AWS
AWS S3 Standard (Non-immutable) - Performance Tier
AWS Glacier Deep Archive (Immutable) - Archive Tier

My SOBR is currently configured with Direct-to-Object storage:

Offload Data to AWS
AWS S3 Standard (Immutable) - Performance Tier
AWS Glacier Deep Archive (Immutable) - Archive Tier

I would like to add that I do not want to delete any of my current data located in my new AWS S3 Standard bucket (Immutable) nor my AWS Glacier Deep Archive bucket (Immutable). I just want to do some house cleaning - items that I'm no longer using, such as Offload to AWS.

Not sure whether I follow you on that, but removing previous backups created by the "Offload to AWS" job should not have any impact on backups created by the "Offload Data to AWS". Thanks!
