SOBR Offload job with StoreOnce

I'm curious to know, if you have a StoreOnce or indeed any supported deduplication appliance if configured as the performance tier in a SOBR, and say Azure blob in the capacity tier, how does the offload job work in this case? For DAS based SOBR, the servers needs access to the internet or via a gateway but I'm assuming in the case with appliances its not direct from the appliance, so what is the data flow? would a gateway server be needed a read from the appliance out to the cloud or is it via some other mechanism?

In this case, the data will pass the gateway server before being offloaded to Azure.
