I want to keep most of the Veeam B&R backup data on Azure Archive storage but not on Azure Blob (Hot) Storage.
However, it is not possible to store the backup to Azure Archive storage directly but will need Azure Blob (Hot) Storage as the intermediate storage.
If there is a case with 100TB of local repository of backup data, I want to:
- minimize the retention period, data size and cost on Azure Blob (Hot) Storage
- but want to keep monthly and yearly backups on Azure Archive storage
Do I need to keep at least 1 sets of monthly backup on Azure Blob (Hot) Storage for this case?
Are there any setting to just store and retain 1 set of for just 1 day on Azure Blob (Hot) Storage and then tier to Azure Archive storage on the same day?
Thank you.

Re: Store backup on archive tier while minimize the capacity tier
Hello,
and welcome to the forums
1) weekly would also work, but in general you are right, yes. See second last question of the sticky FAQ
2) "Archive GFS backups older than 0 days" is the minimum possible setting.
Best regards,
Hannes
