[POLL] What EMC DataDomain model are you using?

Post by Gostev »

Please vote if you are using EMC DataDomain for storing Veeam backup. I am not including the newest DataDomain models here on purpose, as I want to compare between models that have been on the market for a while.

If you opt to vote in this poll, please be sure to also vote in these secondary polls:
[POLL] What DDOS version are you using on your DataDomain?
[POLL] What protocol are you using to connect to DataDomain?

Thank you!

I have about 20 customers using datadomain as their repositories. Most of them are doing this with cifs, and a few are using nfs.
They are using the models from the 500 series and up to the newest series. Most of them are using DD160, DD620 and DD640, but since the D640 is discontinued the DD2500 is becoming more and more popular.
DD OS is mostly 5.x

So in total, a believe I serve at least 30 of these boxes in total. And the count is rising...

Didn't know how to get this in the poll so I'm writing it here...

Hello,

We are also having a lot of customer using DataDomain Systems starting from DD160 up to DD890 including new systems. Usually the Systems having newest available DDOS. But one point, there are some customer in the decision using vRanger because of OST/DDBoost Support. Maybe could be a good point to license and include OST/DDBoost.

Thank you

We are currently have 2 DD580's and will be replacing them with DD2500's. Our customers that choose too, can connect to us. They are using DD160 and DD620's.

This forum does not allow modifying the poll options and again, and I was only looking to compare between the models that have been around for a while anyway.

I see I have missed a couple of legacy systems, but this is not critical. The main goal was to understand whether most Veeam customers are using low-end, mid-range or high-end DataDomain models. And I can certainly see the answer already from these results: low and mid range are prevailing.

Thanks to everyone who voted and/or posted, this is really helpful.

We also have a few customers with 860 and 890 - given the expense of these , I would expect to see a lower number in the field.
