Any downside to using Windows 8.1 as the Veeam Server?

Is there any downside for using Windows 8.1 64-bit as the Veeam Server? How about using Windows 8.1 as the backup proxies? The primary justification is to reduce the licensing costs for both the proxies and back end devices.

The beauty of our distributed architecture is that you can re-use your existing VMs/servers as backup proxies to lower the licensing cost. I don't see anything wrong with using Windows 8.1 hosts as proxies. You can run Veeam server components on any supported OS.
