how many licenses

Post by lohelle »

Question:

I'm thinking about using Veeam for replication (a project a customer of us have).
If they have 10 ESX hosts, but only want ONE replication target (one dual 6-core opteron with 128GB RAM etc), how many socket licenses do they need? 10 x 2 sockets, or just 2 for the target?

Lars, our product is licensed by the number of source ESX sockets, no matter what functionality do you use. So they needs 10x2 sockets = 20 licenses. Replication targets do not need licenses.
