Installing Veeam Backup v7 Free on Windows 8

The installer just tells me my OS is not supported but its clearly supported.

Latest build i was able to download: Backup&Replication.7.0.0.690
Running Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64, English

Is this not supported?

Hello,

Installing Veeam B&R in Windows 8.x x64 OS should be fully supported. I would suggest reviewing setup log file to see the reason why it is complaining.

Actually, 7.0.0.690 is v7 RTM build that was released well before Windows 8.1 became available, so I see how it may not support Windows 8.1... let me check with the setup folks.

Just to update this thread - installation of Veeam B&R 7.0.0.690 is supported on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, so I would recommend contacting our technical team for further investigation.

I am unable to install Veeam Backup v7 on Windows 8.1 Pro virtual machine. When we enter setup and select install I receive error that my OS is not supported by Veeam. Exact error is :

Your operating system is not supported by Veeam Backup and Replication. See documentation for more details.

When I check documentation i can see that it is supported. What is the OS where can I install my Veeam Backup and Replication?

Please contact technical support for logs investigation, you should be able to install Veeam B&R v7 on Windows 8.1.
