Unable to get Smartswitch replication to work

Post by Jason.Gersekowski »

Hi all,

I am trying to do a Hot Migration using the "Quick Migration" feature of the Free Veeam Backup and Replication product however I am finding I am unable to get it to work using Smartswitch mode... The two CPUs are as follows :

Source : Intel Xeon CPU E5-2630
Target : Intel Xeon CPU E5-2670 v2

I have set the EVC mode on the clusters to both be using "Sandy Bridge" Generation mode, but I am unsure what other things I am able to try...

I have a second target server which is the following :
Target 2 : Intel Xeon CPU E5-2403
Smartswitch mode migrations to this host seem to work correctly...

If anyone has any ideas on what to suggest to get this working with the above CPU types, it would be much appreciated...

Cheers,

Jason

Jason, basically for the SmartSwitch migration to be available, both CPUs should have similar instruction set.
