Tape backup best practice

Post by v.tom »

Hi,

I want to implement a full Veeam based backup solutions including backup-to-tape.
However i'm not really familiar with backup-to-tape configurations.

For me the information about the options with a backup-to-tape solution is a little bit overwhelming.

I'm looking for an example setup of this. Like what is the best practice for setting up media pools and media sets and which settings are mostly used.

I know a lot of settings will be dependent on the demands of the business, but I'm looking for a good blueprint.

It's hard to speculate, knowing nothing about your requirements. Can you shed a little more light on how many restore points you want to store on tape mediums? For how long? How often you're willing to rewrite mediums, etc. This sort of information will be helpful. Thanks.
