Individual alarms

Post by Danne84 »

Is it possible to create individual alarms for Guest machines?
Example for the disk space? Instead for having 10% for all the machines?

You can create alarms and assign them on individual VMs, however you cannot assign alarms on individual Guest OS disks.

You can click create alarm in the Alarm Management tab, select the trigger, thresholds and then assign on the infrastructure tree.

But i would like to asign the alarm to a specific virtual machine not all the VMs.
For example i want it to send alarm when the C drive on the "test vm 1" is at 10%
but on the "test vm 2" i want it to send it at 20%

do i have to create a new alarm for eatch of this machines?

As Vitaliy has said, select required alarm, go to assignment tab -> container(s), and select whatever object you want to assign alarm to. Thanks.

Yes, if you want to set different thresholds for different objects, then you should be either copying the alarm or creating the brand new one. The easiest way would be to group your VMs using Business View groups and then create 2-3 alarms with the different thresholds for these groups.
