2 Veeam server and 2 Esxi hosts backup solution

Post by sunc »

Dear all,

I've meet a problem that i have to ask for help.
I have 1 Veeam server on my local network 192.168.1.200/24 and 1 Esxi host - 192.168.1.161
Also I have 1 Veeam server on the vpn network 192.168.10.200/24 and 2 Esxi host - 192.168.10.161

Image

Case 1.
Each veeam server will backup all of the local esxi guest vm every night.

Case 2.
Veeam A will backup some of the backup of Veeam B.
Not directly backup the guest vm in Esxi B.

For example
Veeam B will backup
Guest A
Guest B
Guest C
Guest D
Guest E

I want Veam A to backup
Guest A
Guest D only.

Is it possible to setup?

Please give me some advise for this case.

Thanks for your help!!!

Veeam A will backup some of the backup of Veeam B.
I'm wondering whether you want to copy backups created by VB&R B or just additionally backup the same VMs as VB&R B does. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

I do not want to backup the guest vm in Esxi B directly via VPN.
It's because i do not want to spend a long backup time to affect the production server.
So i want to backup the copy of veeam B.

Any idea?

On backup server B you can:

1) Add backup repository A.
2) Create backup copy, selecting local (B) repository as a source and remote repository (A) as a target.

Thanks.

Dear v.Eremin,

I missed the "backup copy" option before.
I have set a backup copy from local (B) repository as a source and remote repository (A) as a target.
Warning message as below.

Cannot see the picture. Anyway, with all technical issues it is always recommended to contact support directly. Thanks.

Chances are, the backup copy job tried to run integrity check during prohibited time interval, and, thus, generated an error. Please, update to the latest product version and see whether the issue persists. Thanks.
