Hi,
is there a way to turn off the following warning?
04.06.2014 08:01:28 :: Backup file [......vbk] size exceeds 15 TB. Make sure backup repository's file system supports extra large files.
I have a job that always gets this warning, but succeeds. I'd like to see the job with the other successful jobs.

What version of Veeam B&R are you using? What configuration is set in the target block size for storage settings?

Hi Vitaly,
We're using Veeam 7, Patch 3, build 839.
I don't know exactly what you mean by target block size, in the job we set the storage optimization to "Local target (16TB+ backup files)" and the underlying FS has a cluster size of 32 KB (NTFS)

Hi, this is unexpected that you get the warning every time, and not just once. I will forward this to QC. Thanks!

There's a registry key to handle this check (in GBs):
Should be placed under the standard Veeam hive:
Code: Select all
HKLM\SOFTWARE\VeeaM\Veeam Backup and Replication

Several of the VM's I backup are around 20TB. Veeam handles this fine, and has for a long time. However, it's always added the following warning, and as of version 9 it's been enough to mark the job as a Warning instead of Success:
Code: Select all
Backup file [/media/backups/veeam/FileServer-2016-08-22T223039.vbk] size exceeds 15 TB. Make sure backup repository's file system supports extra large files.
The repositories are fine with the size. Is there a way to increase the size it complains about, or disable the warning? I'd much rather see my jobs listed as success.

Bryan, please try the following registry value:
Code: Select all
StgOversizeGbLimit
Type: REG_DWORD
Default value: 15 * 1024 //15TB
You need to create the value on the backup server, specify the required limit (for example, you can set 25 in your case), and reboot backup server.

Thanks, I'll try it. Just to clarify, do I leave it in hex or decimal, and I'd want to set it to say 25000?

Right, decimal 25000 will work.
