Veeam MP Dashboard views are empty

Post by Alec King »

Hello All,

We've had a couple of questions about certain Dashboards in the Veeam MP being empty; here I'll post the explanation and workaround.

This is a Microsoft issue and we are currently working with the Microsoft UI framework team directly. Workarounds below.

First of all - some views may be empty because there is no data! For example, discovery has not finished yet. Or, if you have no clustered storage; then the clustered storage dashboard will always be empty.
However if this does not cover your case, check the points below -

1. Restart the SCOM console. Sometimes this is enough to populate the dashboards.
2. Always start the console with the /c switch. Meaning, change your SCOM console shortcut to be -

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Console\Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Monitoring.Console.exe" /c
3. Clear the SCOM console registry cache. Please note this will remove all Personalization. Close the console and delete this registry key (delete the /Console key and all contents) -

Code: Select all

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Console
Start the SCOM console again and all dashboards should be populated.

From our testing, fix (3) always works.
Note that this problem can affect ALL dashboards - not just Veeam MP. So this is definitely a Microsoft issue and we continue to work with them on the root cause.

Cheers
Alec
