No disks have been mounted FLR v7 Patch 3

Post by dlieshout@client.nl »

After updating Veeam Backup v7 Patch 3 we got issues with several customers wit File Level Restore Windows.
When restoring FRL Windows OS the error shows up that no disks have been mounted etc. A FLR via Other OS just on a Windows-server works fine.

Rebooting the server does not help. Also a certain registrykey FsDepends does not work (if it is there in your situation).

The good news is that is is easy to fix.
- Open a command-box
- cd "C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replciation"
- vdk remove

This will remove the virtual disk driver which Veeam uses. Now you can restore the normal way. It will recreate the virtual disk driver and all works fine.

Great chapeau for Veeam Support to tackle this issue !

Could you provide your support case ID, please? We want to follow up with support and have R&D investigate the cause.

Seeing the same behavior in my environment. Veeam B&R server is Windows Server 2012 R2, and the error occurs with Windows FLR on our VMware environment.

Needed the KB today, thanks. I do know why, with true crypt going away I created virtual disks on the veeam server and encrypted them with bit locker. With those virtual disks mounted the veeam one didn't work using File Level Restore Windows. With the windows vhd dismounted I followed the kb and now I am all set
