Transform taking too long

Our full backup .vbk is between 4-5 TB, and when we run a backup copy job to an off-site location, the transform is taking a very long time to complete (several days). Is there a strategy to reduce the time for the transform to complete (split copy job into multiple jobs, setup multiple Veeam servers, split jobs across multiple repositories, etc)?

What sort of storage have you got at your remote location ?

It is a virtual machine on a Netapp SAN, although the SAN is shared with other VMs. Is the repository the bottleneck during the transform phase?

Hi Mike,

It looks there is not enough IOPs on the target storage to have quicker transform operation. There is a couple of existing threads with a similar question, please check them out > Transforming Full backup (Backup Copy Job) is taking 3 days and Optimal storage config for transforms

See if changing this setting on NetApp box helps:

options raid.mirror_read_plex_pref alternate

There are a few other known tweaks as well, but those are for writing backups directly to NetApp over CIFS.
