Hi all,
i have a replication job of a VM more or less 1 TB large.
2 days ago, during a backup, the ESXi host where the machine run has been restarted.
After that, the next Replication JOb was a full and took more or less 24 hours.
After this job, the next were more or less normal, less than 1 hour.
Today, 10 hous ago, a Replica ran but it's still at 99%.
On VMware Vsphere Client the status is "Remove Snapshot ".
Browsing into the datastore of the Replica machie i can see some files .vmdk and 00004.vmdk created about 40 minutes ago, so i wonder that there is some activity running.
The RJ is configured to have 5 snapshot maximum.
Question: how can i be sure that the job is running and that it's not stuck?
There is something i can check?
Thank you

Re: Snapshot Deletion after Replication Job
Hi,
You can check this via job log files or active tasks on the vCenter Server. If you see that snapshot is still being deleted, then your job waits till vCenter Server reports on its success status.
Thanks!

Re: Snapshot Deletion after Replication Job
Thanks for quick response
On Vcenter Vsphere Client the job is at 99%
It's not clear to me how i can see if the snapshot is being deleted.
Thanks

Re: Snapshot Deletion after Replication Job
Browse to the source datastore where original VMs reside. If still see snapshot files there, then vCenter Server is still trying to consolidate all the changes. Unfortunately, I cannot say how to track task status in vCenter Server, always has the same challenge with snapshots and migration tasks.
Our job debug logs should definitely say if there was a timeout on some tasks or not. Our support team can assist you with logs review.
