Upgrade Question

Post by jorgene »

Hi,

A Customer of mine currently run 2 VMware ESXi, 4.1.0, 348481 servers
And use VMWare vCenter Server 4.1.0, 345043

Veeam Backup & Replication 5.0
5.0.2.230

Now is it possible to upgrade Veeam Backup & Replication to latest version (7) with this ESXi and vCenter versions?
Also can i upgrade directly from Veeam B&R 5.0 to 7?

Yes it is. You can find comprehensive info in Release Notes.

Veeam supports in-place upgrade to version 7 from versions 6.0, 6.1 or 6.5 (any patch level). For upgrading from v5.0, your customer needs to contact their support for instructions and assistance with performing an upgrade.

Also FAQ contains additional useful information. Thank you.

Ok, so upgrade from 5-7 directly isn't supported.
So i may upgrade from 5-6 and then from 6-7?

I will register a case on it when it's time to uprade.
