Filesystem consistent Linux Backups with VMware

Post by pazzoide76 »

Hi,

I have to make a backup of a linux server.
The server is a centos 6 which is a fileserver.
If I do I make backup and restore with veeam 7 I have the filesystem is not consistent

root @ ubuntu: ~ # dmesg | grep EXT
[3.780568] EXT4-fs (dm-0): INFO: recovery required on readonly filesystem
[3.780855] EXT4-fs (dm-0): write access will be enabled During recovery
  [4.153234] EXT4-fs (dm-0): recovery complete
[4.178622] EXT4-fs (dm-0): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts: (null)
  [8.058018] EXT4-fs (dm-0): re-mounted. Opts: errors = remount-Röthis test was made with the current Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

With the release of vSphere 5 I had obviated by enabling vmsync.
With vsphere version 5.5, the vmsync has been removed.
How I can get the filesystem consistent?

thanks

Have you tried classic sync; sync; sync; in the pre-freeze VMware Tools script?
