Building a "landing zone" links to papers or blog entries?

Post by dthacker9 »

During our all too short stay an VeeamON, we attended the Veeam UG session and heard a lot about the benefits of using a "landing zone" as an initial target for backups with a quick RTO objective. Does anyone in the community have some links to blog posts or papers that discuss what to think about when building an LZ? Thanks to the folks in the UG meeting at VeeamON on Monday, it was a very good session.

Cheers!

Not sure there's much to read about that. It can be any smaller faster disk/storage (no deduplication) to hold the most recent backup data (i.e. current incremental chain) for faster restores.

That what you have replication for, is it not?

Replication mostly implies failover of the entire VM and requires additional host and significant space on datastore, while backups stored in such landing zone can be used for operational file-level restores and Instant Recovery, for example.
