Hello,
We are inplementing a new Hyperv 2012 R2 Cluster with two physical Hosts and one IBM Storwize SAN.
The question is :
When do i need to use IBM hardware vss ? And where do i need to install it ? On my physical hosts ? On the Veeam proxy ?
Sorry for this newbie question but we're installing this fior the first time and we need some experts advices

Re: When do I need to use hardware vss provider ?
Hi Fred,
Using hardware VSS provider is a recommended approach of backing up Hyper-V VMs. You need to install it on all Hyper-V hosts you are going to backup VMs from and the off-host proxy server. If you want to offload the backup process from your Hyper-V Cluster, then it is recommended to use off-host proxy servers with hardware VSS provider.
