Restoring VM from SAN Snapshot

Post by vlb »

Hi Guys

hope you are well.

I am trying out the restore from SAN snapshot feature in our Veeam B&R V7. We use Lefthand San/Nas.

I take the snapshot of our test lun (this contains 1 VM) this procedure is done via the CMC
I go into Veeam and scan the San Infrastructure section and it sees the snapshot (and the VM inside it) ---- Great so far
When i run the VM recovery etc it gets to the stage where it tries to mount the datastore to one of my hosts and it bombs out. I know why this is (as the datastore has the same UUID as the Original one) what i wanted to know is how do I (or Veeam) get around this?

I know i can manually resignature the "snapped" datastore but shouldnt Veeam B&R be taking care of that for me?

Look forward to hearing from you

Martyn, what type of restore are you trying to perform? Have you contacted technical support with this? Please provide your case ID for reference. Thanks!
