Unable to connect to the Veeam ONE Monitor database ?

Post by albertwt »

Hi people,

Can anyone here please assist me in troubleshooting the problem to access the Veeam ONE Monitor database and also to get the email alerts which was suddenly stopped overnight ?

From the Veeam ONE window application, the bottom of the application (status bar) says that Monitor Server Database: \ (disconnected) while the Service: Servername.domain.com (connected) ?

The top of the application displays Configuration Issue (1 detected) [-] SQL Server connection failure.

The following pop up error message was displayed:
---------------------------
Microsoft SQL Server Login
---------------------------
Connection failed: SQLState: '01000' SQL Server Error: 67
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).
Connection failed: SQLState: '08001' SQL Server Error: 17
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
---------------------------
OK

I have verified thatthere were no SQL Server Express 2005 service that was stopped, all up and running as expected with no error logged in the Event viewer apart from the following log:
Log Name: Application
Source: Veeam ONE Reporter Server
Date: 8/12/2014 10:52:51 AM
Event ID: 0
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: PRODMON1.domain.com
Description:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
The SQL Server isin the same Windows server 2008 R2 itself, I havechecked that the disk space used by the SQL Server is not above 4 GB.

Can you connect to the SQL Server with Veeam ONE credentials from the Windows server hosting Veeam ONE service?
