Automount not disabled with v8 on 2012

Just carried out a fresh Veeam B&R v8 install on Windows 2012 R2 and checked the automount afterwards. It was still enabled. Is this a bug or should I have restarted the whole server at the end of the B&R installation?

I believe its by design - in 2012 its much more efficient to use the san policy option ( we set it to offline shared )

Makes sense. Local USB devices can still automount then, but off-host storage doesn't. Like it.

Correct. In later versions (I believe, starting from 2008), we set SAN Policy to Offline, automount is disabled in earlier versions.

I noticed the same on 2012 R2 and decided to disable automount, as it's a pure Proxy server (Data mover). Does it have any other negative impact?

No need to disable automount on later Windows versions, as it can cause issues.
