vRDM backup question

Post by nathanb12 »

Hi,

so I am aware that vRDM disks are able to be backed up by Veeam, but just wanted to check that it will work in my scenario.

The Veeam server is a VM Backup Proxy with Transport Mode set to Automatic selection and is currently backing up 17 of our servers successfully.

Now our exchange server was the last VM that had an in-guest iscsi mount, which I have now changed to a vRDM (350GB).

I have searched the forum and unsure if a backup job will be successful or do I need to add the lun to the Veeam VM via the MS iSCSI initiator so it can perform the backup?

In contrast to the disks mounted via ISCSI initiator, vRDMs are supported. So, everything should work as expected. Thanks.
