Licenses for cloud connect

Post by mephisto »

Hey guys,

I need to understand the licensing for cloud connect, it is only included on the veeam suite V8, right? so I can't have this service with the standard backup and replication license? Is there a Veeam essentials package with this service included?

Also, if I buy essentials license, can I upgrade it to standard at a later stage?

Veeam Cloud Connect is included with any of the mentioned v8 packages (Veeam Availability Suite, Veeam B&R, and Veeam Backup Essentials) with no additional licensing. You will need however to find a service provider that will host your cloud backup repository and subscribe to it's hosting services.

Yes, once you have reached the sockets limit for Veeam Backup Essentials, you can upgrade to either Veeam Availability Suite or Veeam Backup & Replication for the difference in price between the products.

On the other hand, if you're willing to become Service Provider you should apply to VCP program first. Thanks.
