To those running Backup/Restore from/to SSD drives
I would like to get a sampling if I could. How have tests gone for those who are running their backups/restores to/from SSD drives? Have they ended in failures or did they run with no issues?

Hi, haven't had any issues backing up.
Running OCZ Vertex 3 and 4's with bitlocker encryption going to network share.
File restores are fine and a bare metal restore into a vm was ok too.

Re: To those running Backup/Restore from/to SSD drives
Hi,
I've successfully backed up my desktop and two laptops wihch all have a Samsung Evo 250GB SSD installed.
I've also backed up a 64GB RunCore Mini PCIe SSD (in an eee pc 901 running windows 7) - I've also successfully restored this netbook into a virtual machine using recovery media.
All my backups have been to a NAS device and have been successful.
Cheers Kev

Re: To those running Backup/Restore from/to SSD drives
I've run into a problem when I wanted to restore my backup to a new laptop (same model as before) and it had an 256 GB SSD while the original HDD size was 512 GB. I selected the bare metal restore and the automatic disk mapping wasn't successful so I used manual mode. When I try to select the OS disk partition I cannot apply the Disk 0 layout from the backup. It's greyed out. From the restore menu I can select the BDEDrive (500MB) only but not the actual data partition. The data in use of the backupped drive was 80 GB so plenty of emptry blocks. Any way to teach the Disk Mapping the new partition size?

Counted as a feature request. Yes, we saw this requirement several times and it’s not in high priority list. Thank you.

Hi Popov,
thanks for the reply. I was watching the webinar from Mike Ressler and at minute ~44 into the introduction he clearly mentions exactly my scenario and that it is one of the nice features of the solution so I thought this should work.

Hi Christian,
I know I mentioned it during the webinar. Unfortunately, we were in beta at that moment and we discovered issues so hence it isn't in it at this moment.
Cheers
Mike

Re: To those running Backup/Restore from/to SSD drives
Hi Adam,
I ran a full BMR restore successfully. Original HDD = Samsung Evo 256 GB. Backup drive = USB WD MyPassport 1 TB.
Scenario was that i did a full backup with windows 8.1. Then upgraded to Windows 10 Technical preview (from within windows). Then once i realized there were enough bugs for me to deal with i reverted back using Veeam BMR. Restored in ~ 1 hour 20 minutes. No issues except that MS word and my Onedrive has a bug and crashes word, a reinstall of office resolved the issue.

I spoke too soon! I've had an issue with a restore and have submitted a support case but not from the affected machine sadly as it won't start up.KevinW wrote:Hi,
