Save repository contents and begin new backup chain

Post by LThibx »

I am begging to get some of my clients set up in Cloud Connect. All are on V8.
Consequently I have existing local backups that were created without encryption.
I plan to edit my backup job, put in my encryption key, and have it perform a new Active Full.
From that Active Full and that point on, I will be doing a Backup Copy Job to Cloud Connect.
My question is can how can I save (move) the existing non encrypted backup chain out of the repository to a location to archive this for a time? Do I just move the contents of my repository to a new folder not defined in Veeam?

Thanks
Lonnie

Yes, you can move them, however keep in mind that corresponding restore points will still be displayed in the UI, until being wiped out according to specified retention.

Foggy,
Thanks for the quick reply.
One last question. Do I also move the .vbm in addition to the .vbk & .vib's?

Yes, you can, however vbm file is not mandatory to have in the repository (speeds up import procedure).
