Alerts not being triggered even when enabled

Post by ken.wilson »

Hello,

I must be missing something but I have some machines that should have active alerts but they don't. While working on a way to globally exclude "_replica" VM's from all the snapshot alarms I have noticed a lot of my VM's that should be in a warning or error state are not but some are.

For example I have some machines with warnings for "Latest snapshot age" that's set to 48 hours by default. Some other machines have no alerts at all but have snapshots that are much older then 48 hours. I have checked and these alarms apply to these machines and are enable and not excluded.

Anyone have ideas on why this might be happening? My fear is VeeamOne is missing an alarm that I might need to action on a production VM.

Thanks,

Ken

Hi Ken,

Are you running at Veeam ONE version 8? Do you see issues with snapshot alarms only? Can you click on alarms tab and apply filer for resolved alarms. Do you see any alarm entries there?

Thanks!

Yes we are running Veeam One v8.

So far I have only noticed the snapshot alarm issues as I have 30+ replicas and only some in a warning or error state. I checked the resolved alarms and I do see 3 for certain VM's with relation to the snapshot alarms.

Thanks.

As far as there were a couple of private fixes regarding snapshot detection in v8, so I would suggest reaching to our support team to verify what issue you're expressing.

We're seeing something similar with the Guest disk space alarms not being triggered... Did you get anywhere with this Ken?

Andreea, our support team should have a private hotfix for this issue. Thanks!

Yes, you can do that via our technical support team. Open the case via cp.veeam.com. Thanks!
