Veeam 7 SureBackup Error The object has already been deleted

Post by AlexD »

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me.
When starting up a SureBackup it gets to the processing then fails with the error "The object has already been deleted or has not been completely created"
Is there a post already here that has a fix? I have looked but all I can find are fixes are for versions earlier than version 7 (and they usually say that the bug will be fixed in Version 7)
Just want to check before I put in a ticket to support.

Many Thanks,
Alex

Have there any job modifications recently or changes introduced in your virtual infrastructure (VM re-registration, host updates, etc.)?

Also, what's your case number (it's requested when you click New Topic)? While waiting an asnwer from support team, you can try to re-create a virtual lab, and see whether it makes any difference.

Thanks.

Any chance that you have recently updated your infrastructure?
This error generally says that virtual lab configuration contains link to some object (datastore, network, resource pool or something like that) that is not present in infrastructure (or changed it's internal VMware ID).
Re-creation of virtual lab is the easiest way to work this around.

Reviving thread to confirm that recreating the virtual lab works for this error message. Using VBR 9.5U4.

Slight variation: created a second virtual lab, confirmed jobs ran successfully, deleted first virtual lab.

Thank you for the solution, Nikita.

Just had the same issue after a vCenter service crash. This method still works fine: remove everything from Veeam, created a new lab with a different name: works perfectly again. Thought I'd mention it again in 2022 to let people know this method works with Veeam 11 as well.
