Backups on Veeam free

Post by carlos_c »

Am just running Veeam free on a site just to get some backups before upgrading to the full product -

We have 6 vms' on esxi 5.1 - four are single disk vm's and two have multiple VD's. The single disk vm's back up happily - the ones with multiple VD's backup the first disk then terminate with a warning error - is this by design or is there somewhere to tell it to select all virtual disks, can't see many configuration options. ?

By default, all supported disks should be backed up. What kind of warning do you get? What kind of disks these are?

The backup files are vmdk

The error is just "job finished with error" - no details

What if you select the particular VM to the left in the job statistics window, do you see any errors/warnings there? I also recommend to contact technical support as it is advised to do with all technical issues.

found out the issues - disks on the vm were wrong type (independent) - easily resolved now

Yep, independent disks are not supported and automatically skipped during the backup.
