VSS Providers
The hyper-v manual states that backing up hyper-v with CSVs, hardware vss providers should be used over software providers. In the event of onhost proxy, is that saying that the hardware vss providers should be installed on the hyper-v hosts?

Hyper-V environment with CSV's requires hardware vss providers on the hosts, correct? Is this just a recommendation, or will snapshots fail with the software providers being used?
